Characterized by glabrous or almost glabrous anthodial bracts
and an almost leafless stem this endemic subspecies is frequent in
the Transylvanian Basin. Some populations are pure, some are
intergrades with the typical species.
Between Podeni and Pietroasa, Cluj county, in mesoxeric insular
forest-steppe grasslands on massive gypsum, May 2010.
